Discover Castrol ON – fluids and greases for electric trucks. Designed to keep EVs batteries cooler and extend their range.
Castrol ON is Castrol's high-performance collection of specialised products designed for electric vehicles, now including electric trucks. Our advanced EV Fluids are pivotal in helping electric vehicles:
Go further1* EV Transmission Fluids help reduce energy losses in the drivetrain system and improve transmission efficiency.
Charge faster2* EV Thermal Fluids can help reduce the maximum temperatures battery cells reach during ultrafast charging.
Last longer3* EV Transmission Fluids help protect gears, extending drivetrain system life.
Now, we're driving into the future with the next generation of trucks.
Castrol are leading the transition with automotive industry leaders to unlock the potential of electric vehicles for both personal and commercial use.
Our high-performance EV Fluids are setting new standards, driving the future for electric vehicles.
We partner with OEMs to co-engineer the next generation of electric truck fluids. By co-engineering with us, manufacturers can help shape product development to create optimal fluid solutions for key areas including the battery, transmission, and other electrical components within the powertrain.
Our partnerships support manufacturers in meeting strict efficiency, durability, and compliance regulations. OEMs can be assured when a new truck launches, it has the best fluid suited to performance priorities. As EV technology evolves, co-engineering helps to accelerate product innovation and speed to market.
The Castrol ON range of EV Fluids play a major role in helping electric trucks go further1*, charge faster2* and last longer3*.

The Castrol ON EV Fluids range supports electric trucks in three critical areas:
Unlike the majority of electric cars which have a single-speed transmission, electric trucks and heavy duty vehicles still need geared transmissions in order to be able to deliver high torque across a variety of speeds. The powerful e-motors in these vehicles produce peak torque instantly, placing greater demands on the transmission than a traditional internal combustion engines.
Castrol's EV Fluids are formulated with the appropriate dielectric properties and component compatibility to ensure durability over the transmission's lifetime.
Electric trucks and heavy duty vehicles can feature a number of battery packs depending on the specifications of the vehicle. Specifically designed for all-day use, the batteries have a high energy density which means they also have a higher charging capacity. The thermal management of these batteries is critical to their safe operation and longevity.
Batteries heat up when charged and discharged due to internal resistance - something which increases over time due to battery degradation as the number of charge cycles increases. High current and ultrafast charging also pushes temperatures even higher.
Electric trucks require specialised greases that not only lubricate moving parts and protect components, but are also compatible with electrical systems.
The motors in these vehicles create high torque that places greater stress on gears and bearings. In addition, these motors can also operate at much higher rotational speeds than a traditional combustion engine, placing further demands on greases.
