JLR Retailer Incentive - Dakar Rally 2027 - Terms and Conditions

1. Incentive provider and commercial partner

The incentive is offered and administered by Lubricants UK Limited, a company incorporated under the laws of England and Wales, registration number 00097216, and whose registered office is at Chertsey Road, Sunbury-on-Thames, Middlesex TW16 7BP ("Castrol").

2. Programme Overview

Castrol is running a global retailer incentive programme (“the Programme”) offering the chance to win one of eighteen (18) pairs of all‑inclusive Dakar 2027 tickets (“the Award”). The Programme rewards authorised JLR retailers (“JLR Retailer”) who demonstrate the greatest improvement in both customer retention percentage and Castrol oil purchases during the Programme Period.

 

The Programme is offered and administered solely by Castrol. The Programme is made available to JLR Retailers on the basis of their independent commercial relationship with Castrol or Castrol distributors.

 

JLR Retailers are independently owned and operated businesses. They are not subsidiaries, agents, representatives, or employees of Jaguar Land Rover Limited (“JLR”).

 

3. Programme Period

The Programme runs from 1 April to 30 September 2026 (“the Programme Period”). Only qualifying services completed within the Programme Period and submitted no later than 14 October 2026 will be counted.

 

4. Eligibility

To participate, JLR retailers must:

  • Be a JLR Retailer operating during the entire Programme Period.
  • Use Online Service History (OSH) to record all completed scheduled services.
  • Purchase and use Castrol oil during the Programme Period.
  • Accurately record all service events and oil purchases in accordance with JLR guidelines.
  • Comply with all applicable JLR standards, policies, and local laws.

Tickets may only be used by individuals who are employed by a JLR Retailer and are at least 18 years old at the time of travel. The Dealer Principal of each winning JLR Retailer will determine which eligible employees receive the Award. Castrol reserves the right to conduct screenings for compliance with BP’s Code of Conduct and to disqualify any individual who does not meet the applicable standards.

 

Castrol reserves the right to verify eligibility and selection at any time.

 

5. Tiering and Fairness

To ensure fair competition, JLR Retailers will be placed into tiered groups based on their starting retention percentage and baseline Castrol oil sales. JLR Retailers will compete only within their assigned tier.

 

6. Qualifying Criteria

Winners will be determined based on:

  • The greatest percentage increase in customer retention, and
  • The greatest increase in Castrol oil purchases,

measured across the Programme Period relative to each JLR Retailer’s starting position.

 

The method of calculation, weighting, and data sources will be determined by Castrol acting reasonably and in good faith.

 

7. Data Submission and Verification

All completed scheduled services carried out during the Programme Period must be submitted to OSH no later than 14 October.

 

Any services submitted after this date will not be counted.

 

JLR Retailers are responsible for ensuring that all data submitted is accurate, complete, and compliant with JLR reporting standards.

 

Castrol may audit service records and oil purchase data.

 

Castrol may disqualify any JLR Retailer suspected of data manipulation, inaccurate reporting, or non‑compliance if a JLR Retailer fails to provide the requested clarifications.

 

8. Winner Selection

One winning JLR Retailer will be selected from each tier based on the specified performance metrics, with a total of 3 winning JLR Retailers in each JLR Region (UK, USA, China, Europe, MENA & Overseas) and 18 winning JLR Retailers globally.

 

Winners will be announced by 31 October 2026.

 

In the event of a tie, Castrol will apply additional performance metrics or verification checks.

 

9. Award Details

Each winning JLR Retailer will receive:

  • Two (2) all‑inclusive tickets to Dakar Rally 2027, including:
    • Event access
    • Accommodation
    • Meals
    • Ground transfers
    • Other inclusions as defined by Castrol’s travel partner
    • Flights to and from the location of the event

 

The Award:

  • Is non‑transferable outside the retailer’s employment.
  • Cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative rewards.
  • Must be used by the employees of the winning JLR Retailer, selected by the Dealer Principal.
  • May be subject to additional travel terms and conditions provided separately.

 

The recipient of the Award will be notified either verbally or by email by 31 October 2026. Following receipt of such notification, if the contacted person accepts the Award, Castrol will confirm the location and agenda of the Award within sixty (60) days of having communicated such acceptance. If the Award is declined or unclaimed by the selected person or if the selected person cannot be contacted from the details supplied within five (5) days of first attempting to notify the selected person, the Award will be forfeited.  In such circumstances, Castrol reserves the right to allocate the Award to another participant, selected in accordance with these Conditions. Such selected person will be notified in the same manner prescribed above. Castrol shall have any liability to a selected person in the event that the selected person is unable to take up the Award.

 

Winning JLR Retailers and individuals are responsible for ensuring they meet any travel, visa, health, or insurance requirements. The Award does not include travel insurance, spending money, or personal expenses. Any other costs incurred in addition to those set out above and that are incidental to the fulfilment of the Award are the responsibility of the winning JLR Retailers and individuals.

 

Award recipients will be responsible for ensuring that they are available to travel and hold valid passports, any necessary visas and travel documents for the travel destination in question on the travel dates specified.Use of any tickets included in the Award and supplied by a third party is subject to the terms and conditions of that third party. Castrol accepts no responsibility or liability for any third‑party tickets or for any acts or omissions of the relevant third party.

 

Participation in the activity and subsequent use of both the Award is at the participant’s own risk. The Award must be used in compliance with all applicable health and safety laws, regulations, and venue requirements and Award recipients must follow any safety instructions given to them by any third party, Castrol while using the Award.

 

Winning JLR Retailers and individuals are responsible for all personal and employment taxes arising from the Award.

 

By accepting the Award, all individual recipients agree to take part in any promotion publicity for Castrol, without further consent or payment, if required by Castrol.

 

Award recipients may be required, as a condition of selection and redemption of the Award, to complete a liability release, publicity release, and/or any other forms required by Castrol or any relevant authority. Failure to provide any required documentation may result in disqualification and forfeiture of the Award.

 

Details are correct at the date of publication and Castrol reserves the right to substitute any element of the Award with an alternative of a similar nature or value should the Award become unavailable for any reason.

 

Castrol reserves the right to disqualify any participant who fails to comply with these Conditions.

 

10. Programme Changes

Where reasonably necessary, Castrol reserves the right to:

  • amend, suspend, or cancel the Programme at any time;
  • modify the method of calculating performance;
  • substitute the Award with an alternative of equal or greater value.

Castrol may amend, postpone, or cancel the Award if events outside its reasonable control occur, including pandemics, conflict, military operations, riots, government restrictions, sanctions, severe failures of telecommunications, information technology or data‑processing systems or travel bans. If travel becomes unsafe, unlawful, or restricted, Castrol is not liable to provide a cash alternative.

 

11. Liability

Castrol will not be liable for any costs, expenses (including legal expenses), losses or damages of any kind arising from or in connection with the promotion, including (without limitation) any loss resulting from an individual being unable to enter or participate due to any technical malfunction or communication failure, or arising from or in connection with the Award, including (without limitation) any matters relating to the use or ownership of the Award.

 

Castrol does not accept responsibility for:

  • Incomplete, inaccurate, or late data submissions;
  • Travel disruptions, cancellations, or circumstances outside Castrol control;
  • Any taxes, personal expenses, or additional costs not expressly included in the Prize.

Nothing in these terms limits liability where it cannot be limited by law.

 

12. Data Protection

Retailer and employee data will be processed by Castrol solely for the purposes of administering the Programme, verifying eligibility, and fulfilling the Prize. Data will be handled in accordance with applicable privacy laws and Castrol’s privacy policy.

 

13. General

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If any entrants to this Programme wish to take court proceedings, then they must do this within English courts.

 

The Programme is a commercial arrangement. It is not a consumer promotion, consumer competition, or public prize draw.

 

If any part(s) of these Conditions are determined to be illegal, invalid or otherwise unenforceable, then the remaining conditions shall continue in full force and effect.
