Castrol’s Liquid Engineers have developed a food-grade range of lubrication products to meet your needs

Castrol’s Liquid Engineers understand the lubrication challenges facing the food and beverage industry and have developed a range that combines the performance of premium lubricants with the use of food-grade base oils and raw materials.

Our comprehensive range lubricates all types of equipment from hydraulics to gearboxes, bearings to compressors at high to low temperatures.

Castrol’s food-grade lubricants are fully NSF–H1-certified, and approved for use in kosher and halal food production, and:
  • do not contain natural products derived from animals or genetically modified organisms (GMO)
  • are suitable for use where vegetarian and nut-free food is prepared
  • are approved and endorsed by a large number of Original Equipment Manufacturers
  • help prolong equipment life and improve equipment performance
  • extend maintenance intervals and boost productivity
  • lower maintenance costs and reduce overall consumption and waste
  • aid safe food production.
Our Liquid Engineers recommend the following products for your applications:

NSF H1 authorised gear oils based on synthetic oils with carefully selected additives to meet the special requirements of food and beverage industries.

A non-toxic hydraulic fluid, manufactured solely from FDA (United States Food and Drugs Administration) listed ingredients for use where incidental contact with foodstuffs may occur.

Tasteless and odourless chain lubricants developed to meet the needs of food and beverage industries. They are water-resistant and have a high load carrying capacity.

This food grade lubricant is suitable for lubricating hand-held air tools used in applications where incidental food contact may occur.
Synthetic compressor oil for the food and beverage industry.

A highly refined, water-white mineral oil, compliant with "German Pharmacopeia DAB 10" regulations. Absolutely odourless and tasteless, OPTILEB DAB 8 is NSF H1 authorised.
A highly refined food grade mineral oil which meets British and US Pharmacopoeia standards and USA Food and Drug Administration regulations 21 CFR 172, .878 and 21 CRF 178.3620(a).
For the lubrication of drawing and stamping tools where incidental food contact is possible.

Lubricates chains on equipment used in foodstuff production where incidental food contact is possible.
Physiologically safe machinery lubricant for food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries. It gives a light finish to stainless steel surfaces. NSF-H1 approved, it complies with the "German Pharmacopoeia DAB 10".
For the lubrication of drawing and stamping tools where incidental food contact is possible.

Light, natural-coloured physiologically safe special greases. They contain only components which are listed in the U.S. Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21, Section 178.3570.

Obeen UF Series Greases are acceptable to the USDA as lubricants where incidental food contact may occur.
A physiologically safe, fully synthetic (free from mineral oil), special grease which is especially suited for the food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries where there might be a direct contact between the lubricant and the foodstuff or its packaging. Contains only raw materials which are listed in the Guideline of Security 21 CFR 178.3570 of the FDA and which conform with NSF H1.
A physiologically safe grease based on silicone (in conformity with NSF H1) and especially suits the lubrication of EPDM materials (ethylene-propylene-diene rubber) in food and pharmaceutical industry applications where incidental contact between the lubricant and the product might occur.
Greases developed for general lubrication of food machinery. Approved as "physiologically safe" by the Landesgewerbe-Anstalt LGA Bayern and by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (NSF) as "H1" lubricants which can be used in the food and beverage industry even if incidental contact with food products is possible.
A special high temperature grease formulated using a PFPE base fluid and thickener and Molub-Alloy solid lubricants to lubricate rolling and sliding bearings. Suits high-temperature applications in the food and beverage industries where minimum lubricant consumption, drip-free lubrication and physiological safety are required. Especially suited for applications in baking and drying ovens in the food and canning industries.

Assembly paste for components at high and low temperatures used in the food and beverage industry. Used for eccentric radial cams, screw connections and as a lubricant and separator in heat shaping. Conforms with NSF H1 requirements.
