GTX FULL SYNTHETIC ADVANCED TECHNOLOGY

Driven by advanced technology
The American Petroleum Institute (API) includes multiple tests to measure a lubricant’s performance.  To be certified against the industry standard, the oil must achieve the minimum value of the test limit. Castrol’s line of premium engine oils far exceed these industry standards, ensuring the highest level of protection and performance for your car.
Protection against sludge (1.3X better sludge protection)
Environmental factors such as poor fuel quality, hot weather and stop-start driving conditions can lead to sludge build-up in your engine. Sludge is a thick, tar-like substance made up of dirt and other deposits that can block vital oilways in the same way that cholesterol clogs arteries. Sludge is an issue that reduces engine life, power and fuel economy.  And it doesn’t just affect some engines, eventually it affects all of them.

Metal to metal contact (6x better wear protection)
One of the key functions of a motor oil is to prevent metal engines parts from coming in contact with one another. The area between the cam shafts and cam lobes relies on a very thin layer of protection and is the most likely site for metal-to-metal contact to occur.  When these surfaces contact each other, the result is wear and fatigue of critical engine parts which can reduce engine performance.
Metal to metal contact (6x better wear protection)
Viscosity breakdown (3x stronger)
Viscosity breakdown in motor oil can result from the mechanical shear that moving engine parts put on the lubricant.  This shear breaks the oil down at the molecular level and reduces the initial viscosity. This reduction in viscosity increases the probability of metal to metal contact and decreases the motor oil’s ability to provide engine protection.
