As commercial vehicles become heavier and the need for durability increases, axle fluids are more and more critical for vehicle reliability. Getting the right oil for your vehicle is key to ensuring your rear axle operates as designed and gets the maximum protection under demanding conditions.
In response to that, Castrol has designed a range of axle and universal fluids that can help the vehicle’s axle system perform at its best. Our product range includes fully synthetic and advanced mineral products which have been designed to offer enhanced protection and help prolong component life.

Castrol TRANSMAX Axle EPX 80W-90
Castrol TRANSMAX Axle EPX 80W-90 is a multipurpose axle oil which may be used in differentials, final drives and other applications in passenger cars and commercial vehicles where API GL-5 performance is required. It is approved by MAN and ZF for use in a range of commercial applications including axles in off-road and agricultural equipment.

Castrol TRANSMAX Axle AP 85W-140
Castrol TRANSMAX Axle AP 85W-140 is a multipurpose gear oil for use in most trucks, LCV, and passenger cars’ conventional differentials, non synchronized manual transmissions, and steering gears where API GL-5 performance is required. It is not recommended for Eaton, Spicer, Renault, or Rockwell transmissions as those manufacturers prefer non-EP transmission oils.

Castrol TRANSMAX Limited Slip 85W-140 is a mineral based gear oil which is suitable for use in limited slip differentials in cars and commercial vehicles where API GL-5 performance is required. It is also suitable for use in conventional differentials.

Castrol TRANSMAX Limited Slip 80W-90 is a mineral gear oil that is suitable for use in limited slip differentials in cars and commercial vehicles where API GL-5 oils with specific limited slip friction performance is required. It can also be used in conventional differentials.

Castrol TRANSMAX Axle Long Drain 80W-90
Castrol TRANSMAX Axle Long Drain 80W-90 is a mineral based gear oil designed for use in axles and final drives operating under severe conditions and over a wide range of operating temperatures. It is MB 235.23 and DTFR 12B110 approved, delivering the longest ODI for a mineral product and is specifically approved for use in MB Actros axles. It is also approved for use in MAN, Scania and ZF axles and is recommended for other applications where API GL-5 performance is required.

Castrol TRANSMAX Dynadrive Long Life 80W-90
Synthetically fortified manual transmission and final drive lubricant. Suitable for use in highly loaded final drives and differentials of commercial vehicles in trucks, buses, vans and 4WD’s as well as synchronised manual transmissions requiring API GL-4 or GL-5.

Castrol TRANSMAX Limited Slip 80W-140
Castrol TRANSMAX Limited Slip 80W-140 is a full synthetic rear axle fluid designed to provide protection at the extremes of low and high operating temperatures. It is recommended for competition, severe duty and long drain applications. It may be used in both limited slip and non limited slip differentials. Applications include Holden V8 rear axles, trucks operating in severe service where high temperatures in differentials and power dividers are encountered, and competition vehicles e.g., Group A, sports sedans, Formula Holden and Rally cars.

Castrol TRANSMAX Universal LL 75W-90
(Replaces Syntrax 75W-90)
Full synthetic, multipurpose manual transmission and final drive lubricant.
Castrol Syntrax Universal Plus 75W-90 may be used in synchronized manual transmissions and final drives/differentials of a wide range of vehicles (commercial vehicle, construction equipment, passenger cars) where API GL-4 or GL-5 are required. The product also carries a number of European HD approvals.
