The Challenge

A leading manufacturer of hydraulic lifters and three-point linkages for the tractor segment was facing issues concerning rusting, premature sump failure, and excessive cutting oil consumption. The metals involved in operations were mainly the components of cast iron and steel metallurgy. Due to frequent sump change, their operating costs were high. 

The Solution

Castrol’s team of Sales & Technical Services visited their manufacturing  plant & executed in depth process study to identify root causes for premature sump failure .They had discussions with plant HOD on current issues the manufacturer faced. 

1. Castrol Hysol 3505 was recommended based on the challenges faced on site. 
2. During trial, the stability of concentration & pH of Hysol 3505 was observed as a key differentiator. Due to enhanced stability, the coolant consumption also reduced because of lesser top up concentration.
