The Castrol Heavy Duty sales team has secured a number of significant new mining accounts in the past six months. These include James River Coal, Solar Sources Mining and U.S. Coal, which are all major open-pit coal mining operations in the Ohio River valley.
The team also continues to service Gold Canyon Mining, which is one of the largest mining-services companies in the western U.S. and Canada, with customers including Freeport-McMoRan, Newmont Mining, Barrick Gold, Goldcorp, Coeur d’ Alene Mining, Kinross Gold and Quadra Mining. Gold Canyon operates over 500 pieces of mining equipment.
“Historically, we have serviced several major mining accounts in partnership with our distributors. Also, we are a major supplier to the aggregates industry. This experience has allowed us to add these important new mining customers” said Jay Hill, HD national accounts sales manager for Castrol.
Hill noted, “Our offer is truly about understanding a customer’s business. We help each customer to achieve a long-term reduction in operating and total-ownership costs. In many cases, we help customers switch from traditional products and practices to enhanced lubricant technology, as well as more advanced procedures. That means Castrol high-performance products that extend service intervals and asset life, as well as advanced technical, R&D, field engineering and used oil analysis support, which are all tailored to each customer’s requirements.”
“We back up our offer with world-class relationship management delivered by people who understand the equipment maintenance business better than that of any other lubricant provider,” according to Hill. “In our business, strong relationships mean everything.”
