Vulcan Materials Company recently announced the results of its 2012 Alliance Supplier survey. The voluntary survey is completed annually by managers that routinely use Castrol and other supplier’s products and services in their day-to-day mining operations. Castrol earned an Alliance Award for the tenth consecutive year.
The relationship between Vulcan and Castrol is a long standing one with ties back to a 1995 Vulcan initiative named operation “Trust.” Suppliers were sought after that understood Vulcan’s challenges and delivered solutions that ultimately reduced operating costs. Castrol was seen as an industry leader with its advanced oil analysis program bolstered by an administrative and field engineering staff that had a strong background in the off-road marketplace. This enabled Castrol to be selected as the sole lubricants supplier to Vulcan.
Vulcan Materials has benefitted greatly from the Castrol offer by being able to safely extend drain intervals and heavy-equipment duty cycles through the use of premium Castrol products. This has reduced Vulcan’s operating costs by millions of dollars.
