Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 4 is fully compatible with other fluids meeting FMVSS116 DOT 3 and DOT 4 however, in order to maintain the superior performance characteristics of Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 4, avoid mixing with other brake fluids products.
**All conventional brake fluids deteriorate during use. It is strongly recommended thatCastrol Brake Fluid DOT 4 should be changed according to the vehicle manufacturer’s advice. In the absence of such advice, a 2 year change period is recommended.

Castrol Brake Fluid DOT 3 is designed for use in the hydraulic brake and clutch systems of passenger cars and commercial vehicles with theexception of those systems for which a mineral oil based fluid is recommended (for example, some Citröen systems, for which Castrol Response LHM+ is suitable and Rolls Royce systems, for which Castrol HSMO Plus is approved).
