Hometown: Gold Coast, but I was born in Townsville
Current Occupation: Action Sports Athlete and Entertainment Specialist
Team Car: Chevy Camaro Drift Car, Jump Truck, Harley Davidson Stunt Bike, Holden Drift Ute
When did you become a Castrol brand ambassador? It was back in 2014. Then in 2016 I decided to step it up a notch and became a real life Castrol EDGE Titanium Strong ambassador with all the titanium in my head, mouth, chin and leg.
When did you develop a passion for motorsports? Ever since I was a young tacker. I remember my first motorbike was a Dexon at age 7 and I was always doing wheelies pretending I was Evel Knievel and I never looked back.
What was your first car? It was a blue Mazda 1000 ute (which I rolled after just 3 weeks, sorry Mum). Just last year I purchased the exact same car for my little boy for when he gets his license. I’m going to put a rotary 12A in it so we have 4.5 years to tinker away at it together. He’s excited to throw a flame off the exhaust!
What is your dream car? A big Chevy C3500 truck. Give me dual wheels any day of the week and I’ll be a happy man.
What is your earliest Castrol memory? I was about 5 and I accidently knocked over a full bottle of Dad's Castrol oil when he was doing a service on his Jeep. I was in the dog box for about a week after that one!
What records have you broken? I believe I still hold the record for longest wheel stand on a Harley Davidson, which was 54klms. The only reason it wasn’t longer was because I ran out of fuel. I also broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest wheel stand, which was 225kph for 1klm. Then there was the world record for the fastest stoppie, which was 212kph. In saying all that, I don’t know if that makes me smart or just plain stupid!
How did you get into Stunt Riding? I actually entered a Stunt Riding Competition in Sydney back in 1996 and beat the World Champion Stunt Rider and the doors kind of just opened form there. So I quit my Motorcycle Apprenticeship and perused Professional Stunt Riding and here I am 22 years later.
Who is your celebrity crush? The one and only...Margot Robbie!
If there were any 3 people in the world that you could have dinner with, who would they be? Oh crikey! George Clooney because he’s a legend and I’d be so interested to hear his life story. Evel Knievel because he’s my all time hero and Margot Robbie because she’s my hall pass (don’t tell my wife!).
Who, inside of the motorsports world, was your inspiration when starting your career? Mick Doohan. He is all time Aussie legend bar none.
Which Castrol products do you use in your vehicles? I use Castrol EDGE 25W-50 for all my Harley Davidsons, Stuntbikes, and my Holden Drift Ute and Jump Truck. I use Castrol EDGE 5W-30 A3/B4 in Kent’s Mustang drift car. Castrol EDGE SUPERCAR for my Chevy Camaro Drift Car. Castrol React SRF Racing Brake Fluid. Castrol Syntrax 80-140W for my Albins Trans Axel in the Camaro. Castrol VECTON 15W-40 CK-4/E9 for the Kenworth Semi Truck, and Castrol Care Clean Plus for keeping my hands spotlessly clean and glamorous.
What have been the greatest achievements and career highlights in your career? I would have to say, being able to get back in and drift my Camaro and Stunt Ride again after my horrific accident in Detroit would have to be my biggest achievement. Being hand picked by Tom Cruise himself to be his stunt double in the blockbuster Mission Impossible 2. That was pretty cool and something that in once in a lifetime. Being the first Australian to win a Stadium Super Truck Race would also have to be up there at the top as well. It was at the Castrol EDGE Gold Coast 600 back in 2015. Racing those trucks, hitting the ramps and getting massive air takes a lot of balls so as you can imagine, the adrenalin that pumps through your veins is incredibly addictive.
Who, outside of the motorsports world, is an individual that you look up to and admire? Evel Knievel is my all time hero and the one person I have always looked up to and been inspired by. I even have his signature tattooed on my forearm and named my little boy Madzy Evel after him. If your strictly talking outside of motorsport though, I would have to say Kostya Tszyu. When I was in my late teens and early twenties I was a dedicated boxer. I trained twice a day every days and really took a lot of inspiration to Kostya’s dedication and love for the sport. He was real but always so professional and respectful at the same time.
Outside of motorsports, what other hobbies and interests do you pursue? Anything that doesn’t have handlebars or a steering wheel doesn’t really interest me. So if I'm not out on track, you’ll see me on the beautiful Gold Coast waters Jet Skiing or wakeboarding with my family and friends.
What does it mean to you to live on the edge? Living on the edge has always been something I've lived and sworn by. I’m constantly pushing boundaries and pushing myself outside of my comfort zone. As you can imagine, I've been a professional Stuntman and Action Sports athlete for 22 years now, and done a LOT of crazy and stupid things over the years. Yeah you might fall down, but get back up and make it count. Life is short!
