Rick & Larry face to face
Rick gets close and personal with Larry to talk all things Bathurst past & present. Watch the interview here
Celebrating the 25th anniversary of Larry Perkins’ famous 1993 Bathurst triumph at the Great Race, Rick Kelly took the opportunity to sit down with Larry to discuss the historic achievement and how iconic Castrol sawtooth livery translated from Larry's Holden Commodore to Rick's Nissan Altima.
"Larry is a real legend of our sport and a lot of his most famous moments were at Bathurst. To win three times in 5 years is a remarkable performance. Racing in the sawtooth livery was a moment I was honoured to be a part of." Commented Rick after the race, “It was a special moment to have Larry walk in to his old workshop to see the car. I grew up watching Larry race and this is without doubt one of the key highlights of my career sharing this moment with him.”
Kelly Racing/Nissan Motorsport was born out of the Castrol Perkins Racing Moorabbin workshop. The photos and video that accompany this release were captured at the team’s current dyno location, the former home of Perkins Engineering.
Perkins took victory a total of 6 times during his 26 year career around Mount Panorama, with 3 of those wins taking place in the classic Castrol Sawtooth design.
The 2018 edition of the Great Race marked 25 years since Larry’s 1993 Bathurst win - Perkins’ fourth of six Bathurst wins and the first to take place with his own Perkins Engineering outfit.Rich Text Editor Component
