VOLKSWAGEN MOTORSPORT RECLAIMS WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE-POWERED BY CASTROL EDGE

Rally Australia 2014

The Castrol EDGE-powered Volkswagen Motorsport team became World Rally Champions again at Rally Australia this weekend.

A showstopping one-two-three down under led to Castrol topping the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) again when Volkswagen secured victory in the WRC Manufacturers’ Championship* for the second year in a row, in only their second full season in the WRC.

It was reigning World Champions Sébastien Ogier and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia who won the Coffs Harbour-based extending their lead in the drivers’ and co-drivers’ standings to 50 points over second-placed team mates Jari-Matti Latvala and Miikka Anttila.

If Ogier and Ingrassia successfully reclaim their world titles, Volkswagen will be back-to-back World Champions three times over in all three categories available in the WRC – and all powered by Castrol EDGE.
