BMW works driver Marco Wittmann claims early DTM drivers’ title in BMW M4 DTM powered by Castrol EDGE

This weekend BMW works driver Marco Wittmann won the 2014 Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) drivers’ championship title. The third youngest driver ever to win the DTM and the youngest ever to be crowned DTM Champion for BMW, last season’s Rookie of the Year Wittmann seems unstoppable as managed to claim his title at the Lausitzring with two races in hand.
With four event victories to his name so far this season, Wittmann’s performance has been consistently strong through the season as he tackled international race circuits in his BMW M4 DTM car powered by Castrol’s strong oil, Castrol EDGE.
Fans now wait to see if BMW Motorsport can claim their second and third title of the season, by triumphing in either the DTM Manufacturer Championship or DTM Team Championship. They currently sit 18 points clear of nearest rival Audi in the manufacturers’ standings, while BMW Team RMG is 75 points ahead of second-placed Audi Sport Team Abt.
