Mumbai, September 24, 2018 – Castrol, India’s leading lubricant company, today launched a new reality TV show cum masterclass, ‘Castrol Garage Guru – The Super Mechanic Show’ with Jimmy Sheirgill as the host. The show complements India’s largest mechanic skill testing initiative – Castrol Super Mechanic Contest that was started in 2017 and is into its second edition in 2018.
The show is produced by BBC Studios, and will air weekly on Zee Anmol from September 30th 2018 every Sunday at 10.30 pm.
The TV series focuses on the lives of mechanics in India and tracks their transformation into Super Mechanics throughout their journey in the contest. It also conducts masterclasses where experts shares their insights and tips on repairing and maintaining vehicles. The show also covers the on-ground event of the Super Mechanic contest, conducted in nine cities across the country and the grand All India finale of Castrol Super Mechanic Contest held in Mumbai

The launch of this show also marks the TV debut of popular Bollywood actor Jimmy Sheirgill as host. “Shooting for this show has been a novel experience. I met real life heroes. The mechanics I met through the show and the stories they narrated of friendship, love, trust and of course great skill, are imprinted in my mind and I am sure when viewers see those stories they will be as moved as I was.
