HOW TO CHANGE CAR ENGINE OIL

Regular oil changes are just about the best thing you can do to maintain the power and efficiency of your car, not to mention helping you to get the longest life out of the engine. That's why it's good to know how to change engine oil.

 

Follow these steps to learn how to change your engine oil:

 

Step 1: Safety measures & Set up

Use the jack stand to support your car by placing it directly underneath the frame.

 

Step 2: Draining the oil

Tie a rag around your wrist so oil won't drip down your arm. Place your socket over the drain plug and loosen it a little, and finally use your hand to remove the bolt.

 

Step 3: Replacing the oil filter

Take your oil filter wrench and place it over the filter to loosen it. When loosened use your hand to remove it.

 

Step 4: Replacing the oil

Remove the oil filler cap, place the funnel and hold it while you pour the oil slowly. Afterwards, put the cap back on and remove any oil contamination from the surface of the engine.
