Ford is running two Ford GTs powered by Castrol EDGE SUPERCAR technology in both the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship (referred to as IMSA) until the end of 2019 (4 cars total).

Both teams run under the name ‘Ford Chip Ganassi Racing’. The WEC arm of the team is based at Multimatic in Greatworth, UK, with the IMSA entry based at Chip Ganassi Racing in Indianapolis, USA.

The two sets of two Ford Chip Ganassi Racing Ford GT cars run in two separate championships until all four cars are brought together at Le Mans 24 Hours, and other races where Ford require more than two cars to compete. For example, in 2017, all fours competed at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January, three cars competed at Sebring, and then again, all four cars were brought together at Le Mans 24 Hours.
