Our Pangbourne Technology Centre in the UK is Castrol's global headquarters for R&D, which also co-ordinates the work carried out in our Technical Centres of Excellence in the USA, Germany, China and India.
It is home to over 300 leading scientists and engineers, and our teams conduct over 65,000 tests a year to develop and trial lubricants. We have extensive development and testing facilities for commercial vehicles, enabling us to explore new lubricants for trucks, lorries and buses.

Our rigorous lab work is subject to stringent field tests using methods specially designed for heavy duty diesel engines. Our teams also work in partnership with leading manufacturers to co-engineer bespoke solutions for their commercial vehicles in markets around the world.
