From Day 1 as the original Ford Performance Racing (FPR) team, through to recent success as Prodrive Racing Australia, Castrol has backed Tickford Racing every step of the way. Working hand in hand to maximise the performance of Tickford Racing’s Ford FG X Falcon’s, the list of team achievements during the 15 year Castrol/Tickford partnership includes a long list of memorable Bathurst and Drivers’ Championship performances. “As a driver there are enough things to think about on race day without having to think about whether your engine oil is up to the task. In talking with our own engineers and the Technical Team at Castrol, I can say with confidence that using Castrol means we’re giving ourselves every advantage on race day.” With an action-packed 2018 Supercars calendar, Castrol continue to be proud supporters of Tickford Racing as they pursue Championship glory with the talented driver line-up of Mark Winterbottom, Chaz Mostert, Cam Waters, and Richie Stanaway.
Mark Winterbottom is out to reclaim the #1 after a challenging run since breaking through for his maiden title in 2015. The 2013 Bathurst 1000 winner alongside Steven Richards, Winterbottom is entering his 13th season with the team now known as Tickford Racing. One of the most consistent drivers in Supercars, “Frosty” has finished in the top five in the championship every year since joining Tickford Racing, a streak he’ll look to continue in his quest to go back-to-back.
Chaz Mostert got back on the winners’ list in Supercars in 2017 and led the way for what this year becomes Tickford Racing. As the defending Bathurst winner and second to team-mate Mark Winterbottom in the championship at the time, Mostert’s Supercars career was temporarily halted by a major crash during qualifying at Mount Panorama in 2015. This year marks the eighth of Mostert’s relationship with the Ford squad, which signed him in 2011 while impressing with Miles Racing in the Dunlop Super2 Series.
Cameron Waters enjoyed a breakout 2017 season, taking his first Supercars victory and podiums with Tickford Racing. The Mildura-native kicked off his racing career in go-karts, collecting multiple national and state championships before graduating to Formula Vee in 2009. A move to Tickford Racing followed in 2014, before he took the championship in ’15 and stood in as Chaz Mostert’s late-season injury replacement.
Stanaway makes his full-time Supercars debut this year with Tickford Racing, boasting an impressive international record in both single-seaters and tin-tops. New Zealand Formula Ford champion in 2009, he went on to be champion in the German ADAC Formula Masters series the following year. Making his Supercars debut, Stanaway impressed in the 2016 PIRTEK Enduro Cup in Prodrive’s Super Black Racing entry and joined Cameron Waters last year.
