Castrol has partnered FPR since British motor racing organisation Prodrive purchased Glenn Seton Racing in early 2003, and renamed it Ford Performance Racing. In 2015, Ford Performance Racing was renamed back to Prodrive Racing Australia. Castrol are proud supporters of the Prodrive Racing Australia Team and the Castrol backed drivers, Mark Winterbottom, Chaz Mostert and new comer Cameron Waters continue to be a force in the Australian Supercars competition. Find out more about the drivers Mark Winterbottom, Chaz Mostert and Cameron Waters and how Castrol EDGE is the only oil recommended for the new range of supercharged Ford Performance Vehicles, BOSS 315 and 335 engines.
After a stellar 2015 season, Mark “Frosty” Winterbottom carries the #1 into 2016 after finally breaking through for his maiden championship victory last season. Winterbottom is looking to defend his title this year as he enters his 11th consecutive year with Prodrive Racing Australia team. Last year's fairy tale finish followed what was a year of highs and lows in 2014, which saw the 2013 Bathurst champion finish in the top three of the championship standings. One of the most consistent drivers in Supercars, “Frosty” has finished in the top five in the championship every year since joining Prodrive Racing, a streak he’ll look to continue in his quest to go back-to-back.
After setting the pace for the majority of the 2015 season, Mostert was forced out of the last four events of 2015 following a dramatic crash at Bathurst that left him with a broken leg, wrist and knee issues. Whilst it may have put his Championship aspirations temporarily on hold, it wasn’t enough to deprive him of the 2015 ARMOR ALL Pole Award after securing a total 10 P1 starts! The 2014 Bathurst winner now makes his return behind the wheel of the Supercheap Auto PRA entry this year, and the young gun has already proved his pace with a string of strong performances showing he’s in the title mix once again.
Cameron Waters debuted in the Dunlop Series for Prodrive Racing at the Clipsal 500 2014 and has gone from strength to strength ever since. 2016 will see Waters step up to the main game, after subbing for an injured Chaz Mostert at the Gold Coast and Phillip Island events last year. The Mildura-native kicked off his racing career in go-karts, collecting multiple national and state championships before graduating to Formula Vee in 2009 and more recently winning the development category title in the V8 Supercars Dunlop Series in 2015.
