Managing Director Sean Rahaley, who witnessed the great race, said the win reaffirms Castrol as one of the strongest pedigrees in motorsport.

“What an amazing feat, coming from last place to first! The victory undoubtedly giving many fans flashbacks to the 1995 Tooheys 1000 when Larry Perkins and Russell Ingall nabbed a last-to-first win in the #11 Castrol Commodore.”
“The mountain broke plenty of hearts yesterday but strength, determination, resilience and solid team tactics set the winning team apart from the rest.”
Joining the pair on the podium was James Moffatt and Taz Douglas who finished second in their Castrol-oiled Nissan to claim a special one-two for Castrol.
The young talent of Mostert coupled with the experienced hands of Morris cooked up the perfect partnership which saw Ford go back-to-back in the Great Race.
“I just kept screaming in the cockpit I don’t know if anyone heard me on the radio!” Mostert said.
“It was the best feeling ever crossing that finish line and doing it for all the Ford fans, words can’t describe the feeling I have right now.
“Big congratulations to the Ford Performance Racing guys, victory for the second year in a row and hopefully we can come back next year and make it a hat trick.”
A true demonstration of strength was on display as the pair fought through an incredible 13 pit stops, including one to fix damage from a crash at the treacherous Castrol EDGE corner (Turn 2).
More than 195,000 roaring spectators were treated to one of the greatest races in recent history as the Castrol logo powered over the finish line, for the second year in a row.
Marketing Director Diana Hall commented about the Castrol-backed win with pride, noting that the Ford Performance Racing team truly pushed the boundaries of performance.
