CASTROL AND RENAULT SPORT FORMULA ONE TEAM
Castrol is proud to announce a new official partnership with the Renault Sport Formula One team. The partnership sees Castrol return to Formula 1, and marks the next chapter in our successful motorsport history. The last time Renault and Castrol were partners was during the 1997 season when Williams Renault won both the Formula 1 Constructors Championship and the Drivers’ Championship.
CASTROL AND VOLKSWAGEN – WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP
Castrol and Volkswagen Motorsport have been partners since 2005 and have been involved in a variety of motor racing together from the famous Dakar Rally to the World Rally Championship. Volkswagen Motorsport joined the WRC in the top class in 2013. Powered by Castrol EDGE, they immediately took a clean sweep of the top three world titles up for grabs: Manufacturers' Champion, Drivers' Champion and Co-drivers' Champion. They have repeated this performance for 4 years, the first team in history to achieve this. Over 13 rallies on four continents, Castrol and Volkswagen showed they had the strength to perform in any environment.
CASTROL AND FORD - WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP & IMSA
2016 is an exciting comeback year for Ford, 50 years after their first victory at Le Mans with the iconic Ford GT40, that dominated the race from 1966-69. Powered by Castrol EDGE, Ford will be competing in the GTE Pro Class (GTLM in America). This class consists of the most sophisticated production-based models on the track. These cars are specifically engineered to extract maximum performance, serving as an important proving ground for top manufacturers in the industry and an important showcase for the superior performance of Castrol EDGE.
CASTROL AND AUDI SPORT – WORLD ENDURANCE CHAMPIONSHIP
Castrol & Audi have been partners in endurance racing since 2011. For many years, the Audi Sport team has dominated the world-famous Le Mans 24 Hours - the gruelling endurance race, where cars compete day and night, in all weathers. With top speeds of 220mph on the mile-long straights, and average speeds of 150mph - Le Mans is the ultimate test of engine and lubricant working as one and demonstrates the phenomenal endurance power of Castrol EDGE.
CASTROL AND AUDI SPORT - DTM
In 2014, Audi and Castrol extended their long-running partnership in the World Endurance Championship to the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM). In our first season together, Audi claimed the much coveted DTM manufacturers’ title powered by Castrol EDGE.

Castrol and Honda have a long and proud history of motorsport success making them the perfect partners in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC). Castrol's relationship with Ford and M-Sport in the World Rally Championship stretches back to 2003. With a 13-round calendar that ranges from freezing temperatures in Sweden and high altitudes in Mexico to 140mph+ speeds in Finland, the uniquely challenging nature of the World Rally Championship provides the ultimate testing ground to develop and demonstrate the strength of Castrol EDGE.
CASTROL AND SKODA – EUROPEAN RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP & WRC2
Skoda and Castrol have formed a hugely successful relationship, dominating the European Rally Championship in recent years and WRC2. Even though the rally cars are based on road-based production counterparts, they are pushed to the limit in some of Europe’s toughest conditions. This gives Castrol EDGE the opportunity to develop, test and improve its products in the most demanding and challenging environments.
