Castrol now supports Audi’s activities in the Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters (DTM) as an extension of its successful, long-running partnership with Audi in the World Endurance Championship (WEC). Together, Audi and Castrol have already claimed four victories in the legendary 24 Hours of Le Mans, the most recent just two weeks ago, and are reigning WEC Champions. Castrol’s technical team works with Audi Sport to maximise the performance of the Audi RS 5 DTM in touring car races with Castrol’s advanced lubricants.
With three DTM constructors’ titles to their name and five drivers’ champions in the last seven years, Audi is at the top of its game in the DTM. This season, 2013 Champion Mike Rockenfeller takes on all ten rounds of the series, including a much anticipated return to China, to defend his title in his Audi RS 5 DTM powered by Castrol EDGE with Fluid Titanium Technology.
Born from the Audi A4 DTM, the RS 5 DTM offers technical focus and optimisation of the 4,000 component parts in its predecessor. Essential to the performance of this machine is its Audi V8, 460hp engine run on Castrol EDGE with Fluid Titanium Technology. The superior technology of Castrol EDGE allows this powerful engine to work at its full potential in the DTM, showcasing both performance and endurance on an international stage.
The unique Fluid Titanium Technology in Castrol EDGE physically changes the way oil behaves under extreme pressures. It delivers outstanding oil strength and is ready to perform however the engine and driver demand. With this initiative, Castrol and Audi strengthen their strategic partnership in lubricants beyond joint research and development of Castrol co-engineered lubricants, which are exclusively recommended for Audi’s after sales service. The 2014 DTM season kicked off on 04 May in Hockenheim, Germany.
