Bottom–line Savings


Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease not only adheres to metal surfaces better than typical greases, it is more economical to use. It takes approximately 8 ounces or a half of a pound of grease to properly lubricate a fifth wheel. Many fifth wheels are consistently over–greased which leads to product waste and environmental repercussions. Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease, in the convenient 8–ounce squeeze tube, allows maintenance personnel to apply just the right amount of grease to the fifth wheel. Over time, users find they are spending less on grease because there is little wasted product. Combine these savings with its excellent stay–in–place properties, which can reduce the frequency of lubrication required, and Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease can significantly reduce the cost to grease an operating unit. Increased wear protection and longer component life also contribute savings to a fleet's bottom line. 

Exceptional Adhesive Properties


Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease is formulated with lubricating solids—such as graphite/moly—and has a high percentage of tackifiers, which help it adhere to metal surfaces and create a protective barrier against wear. In the rigorous ASTM D–4049 Water Sprayoff test, over 99 percent of Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease remained in place by the end of the test versus 50 percent with a typical NLGI #2 lithium complex grease. Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease has up to 50 times greater adhesive properties than products typically used to lubricate fifth wheel plates. Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease's exceptional adhesion guards against fretting and other types of metal–to–metal wear, ultimately extending the life of the fifth wheel. 

Environmentally Friendly


Castrol worked with its fleet customers to create the conveniently packaged Castrol Fifth Wheel Grease. It is available in an eight–ounce squeeze tube, which is ideal for one–time application or can be resealed and stored easily for later use. The squeeze tube greatly reduces the chance for over–greasing, which can be both an environmental and safety hazard since excess grease either falls off the unit or is washed away into the environment. Further, the use of the tube packaging promotes a clean, safe maintenance area and offers savings benefits from reduced product waste and extended component life.
