Gas Turbines are extensively used in the offshore sector in electric power generation and compressor drive applications.
Whether the Turbine is an industrial frame machine or an aeroderivative, Castrol have a product to meet the demanding needs of your equipment. Below you can find Castrol high performance lubricants suited for gas and aero derivative turbines. However, Castrol’s comprehensive lubricant range of turbine oils covers all possible types of turbines.
BP TURBO OIL 2197
BP Turbo Oil 2197 is a latest generation 5 cSt High Thermal Stability (HTS) synthetic lubricant for the lubrication of aero-derived gas turbines operating in industrial power generation, offshore and marine applications. It meets US military specification MIL-PRF-23699F HTS. BP Turbo Oil is formulated to provide exceptional high temperature cleanliness in vapor mist and liquid film areas, as well as outstanding oxidative, thermal and hydrolytic stability. It provides exceptional performance in the most demanding existing turbines as well as new generation turbines just entering service.
PERFECTO SN 46
Castrol Perfecto SN 46 is a synthetic hydrocarbon based lubricant which has been developed for the lubrication of industrial gas turbines, gas compressors and other items of rotating equipment where high temperatures are encountered or where the critical nature of the plant demands a premium lubricant to ensure long life and reliable operation with extended periods between shut-downs.
Castrol Perfecto HT 5 is based on a solvent refined, high viscosity index mineral oil specially selected for its high thermal and oxidation stability. Perfecto HT 5 is primarily intended for use in enclosed and sealed systems. It also can be used, at lower temperatures, in systems open to the air. Perfecto HT 5 has a low viscosity which is essential when operating under turbulent flow conditions to achieve very high heat transfer rates.
PERFECTO T RANGE
Castrol Perfecto T turbine oils are based on highly refined mineral oils, with selective additives to improve their inherent high oxidation stability and to protect against corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Castrol Perfecto T oils are primarily intended for the lubrication of steam and gas turbines but are also suitable for the lubrication of water turbines and power turbines of generating sets based on aero-derived gas turbines.
PERFECTO X 32, 46 & 68
The Castrol Perfecto X turbine oil range of lubricants is based upon premium quality mineral oils enhanced with rust and oxidation inhibitors to give maximum protection at high temperatures. Castrol Perfecto X grades are recommended for industrial gas turbines where the lubricant is likely to be exposed to very high localised temperatures. They are also suitable for the lubrication of steam turbines and Combined Cycle generating systems where the steam and gas turbines share a common supply.
PERFECTO XEP 32 & 46
The Castrol Perfecto XEP turbine lubricants are based upon premium quality mineral oils enhanced with rust and oxidation inhibitors to give maximum protection at high temperatures. They also contain anti-wear additives to give additional load carrying properties. Perfecto XEP range is recommended for industrial gas turbines where the lubricant is likely to be exposed to very high localised temperatures.
PERFECTO XPG 32 & 46
Castrol Perfecto XPG is a range of high performance lubricants with a high degree of thermal and oxidative stability and also with enhanced load carrying properties. Perfecto XPG is intended primarily for the lubrication of large gas turbines, but its use should also be considered in any large items of rotating equipment where a long lubricant life and clean operation is desired to maximise equipment availability.
BP TURBO OIL 2380
BP Turbo Oil 2380 is a 5 cSt synthetic lubricant for use in all aero-derived gas turbines used in offshore, marine and power generation applications. BP Turbo Oil 2380 meets US military specification MIL-PRF-23699 STD, and UK military specification DEF STAN 91-101 (replaced DERD 2499). This lubricant provides a balanced combination of thermal and oxidation stability, load carrying capacity, lower volatility and has excellent low temperature flow characteristics.
BP TURBO OIL 2389
BP Turbo Oil 2389 is a 3 cSt synthetic lubricant that meets US military specification MIL-PRF-7808L grade 3 [I believe that there are civilian specs for this lube too – may be more relevant]and incorporates a level of technology from Type II (5 cSt) commercial turbine lubricants. This lubricant combines the thermal and oxidation stability of our commercial 5 cSt synthetic lubricant, BP Turbo Oil 2380, with the ability to flow at extremely low environmental temperature.
