SUBSEA PRODUCTION

Castrol’s Liquid Engineers develop high-quality products underpinned by a thorough understanding of subsea operations. Our products are designed for operational excellence, backed by Castrol’s engineers for on-hand technical service and support.

Castrol’s Liquid Engineers are focused on system reliability. We have dedicated research, innovation and product performance teams to continuously improve and develop new aqueous and synthetic subsea control fluids and other products to meet changing and ever-challenging requirements of subsea industry driven by:
  • deep water, pre-salt and Arctic developments
  • higher operating temperatures and pressure
  • choices between open- and closed-loop system designs
  • choices between aqueous and synthetic products in the system
  • tightening global environmental legislation
  • new technology for subsea processing and other factors
We develop, test and analyse exactly how our products and clients’ subsea equipment works together under stringent field conditions.

Our subsea control fluids have been used since the early 1980s. Since then, we have continued to build our field experience and have developed strong relationships throughout the subsea production industry: from operating companies and major engineering contractors to system and component manufacturers.

Today, Castrol subsea control fluids operate in over 260 subsea developments in more than 20 countries around the world and our customer base includes almost every subsea operator.

Our global support network liaises with clients at all points of project life, from fluid choice and installation to used fluid analysis, providing regular qualitative performance feedback, whilst our worldwide supply network can deliver to you at short notice, wherever you are.

Castrol’s experts are proactive in ensuring system reliability and are here to help customers find the right products. We share the knowledge across our products and services, including the performance of our lubricants and OEM approvals, the differences between aqueous and synthetics, fluid stability in operation or storage, and management of fluid contamination. Furthermore we will discuss the importance and how we deliver product quality, cleanliness and consistency of product formulation.
