need regular lubrication.
Wherever two surfaces rub together wear can occur, so you need to keep these parts well lubricated with grease. The film of grease will prevent sticking, squeaking and groaning, and prevent components wearing out prematurely, or in an extreme case failing altogether. Greases also keep surfaces protected from moisture and corrosion.
