Castrol Syncom oils are a line of high performance synthetic lubricants that are suitable for use in many types of air compressors to include reciprocating (piston) and rotary compressors (sliding vane and cylindrical screw).

Castrol synthetic diester lubricant base provides the following features and benefits:
- Outstanding thermal and oxidation stability provides extended drain intervals up to 8 times longer than achieved with petroleum oils. This lowers operating costs due to longer lubricant life.
- Natural solvency keeps compressors running cleaner due to less deposits and varnish build–up. Cleaner compressors result in less maintenance and lower maintenance costs.
- Good low temperature viscosity protects compressors in cold weather and equals less downtime and wear.
- High flash points and auto–ignition temperature reduces the likelihood of compressor system fires and explosions. This means safer operations and better productivity.
- Excellent air release characteristics means less oil gets into the compressor. This encourages cleaner air, less oil loss and better compressor operation.
- Low carbon–forming tendencies in piston compressors works to eliminate compressor downtime and lower maintenance costs.
