The Castrol EDGE Rugby Championship

The Castrol EDGE Rugby Championship
International Rugby will take a significant step forward in the Southern Hemisphere in 2012 as Argentina becomes the fourth nation to join with Australia, New Zealand and South Africa for The Castrol EDGE Rugby Championship. The Castrol EDGE Rugby Championship sees the four Southern Hemisphere powerhouses – all within the world top 10 – set to square off against one another.

2012 is set to be a massive year for the Wallabies. The season kicks off in June with the Castrol EDGE Test series with a one-off match against Scotland in Newcastle. Then on three successive Saturdays the Wallabies will take on their Rugby World Cup Bronze final rivals, Wales. Matches will be played in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney as part of the Castrol Edge Welsh Tour.

The Castrol EDGE Rugby Championships will start late August and run through to October. Games will be played in Sydney, Perth, Gold Coast and Brisbane and include two Bledisloe Cup matches.

Castrol is proud to continue our association with the Australian Rugby Union by continuing as naming right sponsor for the 2012 series.
