Formula 1

Castrol's involvement takes on many forms. At the highest levels of Formula One, Castrol's technical sponsorship means we develop engineering lubricant solutions to specific engine manufacturers' requirements. In other sports our lubricants already offer a competitive advantage and our support can be logistical or financial to enable rising talent to compete on an even footing. The common link is the participants' discipline and drive to win.

World Rally

Castrol's partnership with Ford in the WRC is an ideal platform to communicate the Castrol brand to the millions of rally fans who follow the sport either on television or at the events themselves.

The Castrol-branded car helps us build on the rich motorsports heritage that has always been synonymous with our premium brand of high-performance lubricants products. The WRC is an excellent proving ground for the Castrol brand to develop and test the latest generation of lubricants.

The extreme conditions in which the sport takes place allows the Castrol brand to push lubricants technology to the limits... something that will provide immediate benefits to the performance of the Ford team and more long-term benefits to consumers for their own vehicles.

Castrol's Brand Ambassadors

We have also expanded our sponsorship programme to create a team of Brand Ambassadors. These sports personalities represent the values that Castrol holds dear. They include personalities from outside the motorsport arena, but they all compete in their sport with total passion and an expectation to be the best. In their fields, they are entirely committed to excellence and will only associate themselves with like minded organisations. Castrol's Brand Ambassadors include the following :

International Soccer celebrity David Beckham

England Soccer Captain and Real madrid's Number 23. A sporting icon, whose single minded passion for the game has earned him enormous international respect and recognition.

International Cricketers Rahul Dravid (India) and Adam Gilchrist (Australia)

Dravid is rated by many as the top batsman in Test Cricket in the world today, due to natural talent driven by hard work and immense focus. Under his Captaincy, India won the first ever test match in Pakistan recently and he continues to do brilliantly this season. Dravid was also recently Castrol India Cricketer of the Year.

Wicket keeper-batsman Adam Craig Gilchrist is one of the world's most exciting cricketers. Behind the stumps, Gilchrist is both agile and reliable. With the bat, he is one of the game's foremost attacking strokemakers that makes him a thrilling player to watch.

Castrol and Honda

An enthusiasm for success at the highest levels has led Castrol to be a major partner with some of the world's leading motorsport teams. Our association with Honda goes back a long time and we have assisted many World Champions racing on Honda motorcycles. Our ability to produce lubricants of the highest quality has led to an even stronger partnership with HRC in 2004 with the development of the highest performing lubricants for the legendary RC 211V Honda racing Motorcycle.

Four outright wins and ten podium finishes by Sete Gibernau were seen by over 560 million motorcycle racing enthusiasts in 2003.The 2004 season sees us continuing our race partnership with Team Telefonica Movistar Honda.

We specially welcome the return of Colin Edwards, our double world superbike Champion, who joins Sete Gibernau to make the strongest team ever to challenge for the championship.
