Nikhil Chaudhary is Chennai’s Castrol Power1 Most Passionate Biker

Nikhil Chaudhary beat back tough competition from 38 contestants to win the title of the Castrol Power1’s Most Passionate Biker from Chennai. Nikhil Chaudhary will represent Chennai at the All India Finals in New Delhi on 22nd April 2009. The Castrol Power1 Most Passionate Biker competition included a test of biking skills, bike style quotient, biking knowledge and overall passion for biking.

Nothing, including the scorching heat, stopped the biking enthusiasts from Chennai to participate in the Castrol Power 1 Passion Hunt held at Wesley Schools grounds at Royapettah, with full gusto. Karoon Murthy who is regarded as the Indian Valentino Rossi was the highlight of the event. The six year old performed a lot of stunts on his pocket CBR 110 cc bike and captured the attention of the audience. Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt was a unique event which allowed bikers to have a gala time, showcasing their skills and style in rounds like slow biking and Slalom biking. This event saw a lot of participation from bikers travelling from neighbouring cities of Hyderabad & Kottayam.

Cheering the participants at the event was Alisha Abdullah, India’s first and only female professional motorcycle racer who has raced past many of her male competitors on her 600 CC bike. Alisha’s passion for biking has won her several awards and accolades both in the national and international circuits. A dedicated sportsperson, Alisha hopes to get other girls interested in this field to set up a Ladies’ Category in Motorcycle Racing and Rallying. Castrol has recognised this talent and passion in Alisha and has sponsored Alisha several times in the past. Alisha is the perfect example of ‘Passionate Biker’.

Giving away the prizes to the winners, C Prasanth, General Manager – Southern Region, Castrol India Limited said, “I am delighted at the response we have got for the Castrol Power1Passion Hunt event in Chennai. In every city where the Power1 Passion Hunt has been conducted so far, the event has seen keen competition. Post Chennai, the competition will move on to the final leg in Bangalore. The regional round winners from the nine cities covered will then compete against each other at the All India Finals to be held in New Delhi. Castrol Power1’s brand ambassador – actor John Abraham who flagged off the Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt in Mumbai on Friday 6th February and will also be present at the finals in New Delhi to give away the grand prize to the winner. The finals will be in a slightly different format and is bound to be an exciting affair. In addition to the on ground event, Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt also has an exciting online component. Bikers can log on to www.power1hunt.com and create their own personal profiles as passionate bikers to showcase the same to the world. On this site, bikers can upload pictures, videos and stories pertaining to biking. Visitors to the site can vote for the online ‘Castrol Power1 Most Passionate Biker’ and this biker will also have an opportunity to participate in the All India Finals in New Delhi.
