The first segment was organised in Mumbai on 29th September 2006.

The India segment included the distribution of the Castrol Lifetime Achievement in Cricket Award, the Castrol Junior Cricketer of the Year Award, and a Castrol Special Award for outstanding performance.

The second segment was held in Johannesburg, South Africa, on 13th December 2006. This Awards function also included a special Awards section to mark the 15th Anniversary of South Africa’s return to International cricket.

The CASTROL Indian Cricketer of the Year Award and the four new awards for batting and bowling were presented at this function. The most successful South African cricketers against India were also honoured at the function.

For the first time, a Castrol Awards function was held overseas. It commemorated the fifteenth anniversary of South Africa’s return to international cricket after two decades of isolation. Three South African cricketers who had done very well against India from 1991 to 2006 were honoured at the function. That apart, the four additional annual awards for Indian cricketers were presented at the function.

• CASTROL Indian Cricketer of the Year – Rahul Dravid
• Castrol Award for Best Batting Performance in Tests – Rahul Dravid (110 & 135 v/s Pakistan at Kolkata in March 2005)
• Castrol Award for Best Bowling Performance in Tests – Anil Kumble (10-161 v/s Pakistan at Kolkata in March 2005)
• Castrol Award for Best Batting Performance in ODIs – Mahendra Singh Dhoni (183 v/s Sri Lanka at Jaipur in October 2005)
• Castrol Award for Best Bowling Performance in ODIs – Sachin Tendulkar (5-50 v/s Pakistan at Kochi in April 2005)
