SEGMENT SPECIFIC, QUARRY

New lubricant gives quarry company rock solid results
When a large quarry customer told Castrol that we could save it time and money with a fluid that could do double duty in transmission and hydraulic components, Castrol took the ball and ran with it. The Castrol formulation team created Castrol Trans C HT, a synthetic multi–grade transmission/hydraulic fluid that is significantly extending drain intervals and adding maintenance savings to its bottom line.

Reason to Believe, In His Own Words

Some of the greatest ideas can be heard if you just listen. When a leading construction aggregates producer asked us for a lubricant that could work in both hydraulic components and transmissions, we listened very carefully. The idea had a great deal of potential. In our twelve–year relationship with this quarrying company, we have solidified the type of partnership that could make this lubricant possible. Castrol's formulation and field engineering expertise combined with our customer's ability to conduct field tests, track results and implement new products and procedures led the way for the creation of a new, synthetic lubricant for use in both powershift transmissions and hydraulic components.

Castrol Trans C HT is a full synthetic, multi–grade powershift transmission and hydraulic fluid that replaces 10W, 10 and 30W TO–4 type transmission fluids as well as multi– and straight–grade hydraulic fluids. Its unique formulation and synthetic base fluid help this quarry achieve three powerful benefits: product consolidation, significant extension of drains and wear protection at low and high temperature extremes.
We implemented this lubricant last year and even our initial conservative results are better than we expected. On average, transmission fluid drains have been extended to 4,000 hours and hydraulics to 6,000 hours. In some cases that is more than triple the life of their previous fluid. With an estimated 3,000 pieces of heavy equipment in this customer's mobile fleet, Castrol Trans C HT is going to post some huge savings in maintenance, labor and lubricants costs. It also reduces the potential for errors in filling sumps, reduces product inventory and decreases waste oil. Castrol Trans C HT is just one example of how we help our customers see Castrol for what we truly are—a team player committed to their success.
