Baljeet Singh Kochhar is Ahmedabad’s Castrol Power1 Most Passionate Biker

Release date: 28 February 2009
Baljeet Singh Kochhar who travelled from Pune to participate in Ahmedabad preliminary round of Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt, beat back tough competition from over 70 bikers to win the title of Castrol Power1 Most Passionate Biker.

Baljeet Singh Kochhar demonstrated his passion for biking and his determination to compete in the All India finals when he travelled from Pune to Ahmedabad and prior to that for the Mumbai event as well. Baljeet had lost out in the Pune round in a dramatic four way tie-breaker but was determined to get to the finals and hence travelled to Ahmedabad as well as to the previous round in Mumbai. Having won the Ahmedabad round, his dream of participating in the final has been realized. Baljeet edged out another die-hard biker – Abhishek Gupta who travelled from further afar – all the way from Agra, to participate in the Ahmedabad event. Abhishek missed out to Baljeet by just one second.

Commenting on his victory, Baljeet Singh Kochhar said, “This has been a really exciting day for me. I was determined to get a chance to compete in the finals and if I had lost out in Ahmedabad, I would have participated in the next round as well. The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt offers an opportunity to passionate bikers like me to participate in an event which is not just about skill but style as well. Castrol has demonstrated that it is possible to be cool and yet be a safe rider. I am now looking forward to going for the grand finals in Delhi in April. I will do my best to win the Yamaha R1 which is every biker’s dream machine.”

Giving away the prizes, Anil Joseph, Regional Sales Operations Manager - West, Castrol India Limited said, “We are very happy with the response we have got so far at the Power1Passion Hunt events in Pune, Mumbai and now Ahmedabad. It is a unique event which allows bikers to have a fun time, showcase their skills and style and yet do it in a safe manner. The Castrol brand has been in India for a hundred years now and through the years, we have developed a very close relationship with all our consumers including bikers. The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt is an ideal opportunity for us to further strengthen this relationship”.

The Castrol Power1 Passion Hunt competition includes a test of biking skills, bike style quotient, biking knowledge and overall passion for biking. Post Ahmedabad, the competition will now move to New Delhi and then on to Kolkata, Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore.
