This is the first year that India participated in the Championship and the Indian leg was a most exciting event. The IDC is a test of safe driving skills and not related to speed. 10 contestants in heavy vehicles and 10 contestants in light vehicles qualified for this National Event through a series of elimination rounds held across the country. With this pathbreaking event, Castrol has once again taken the lead in promoting a unique event, which is built around propagating Road Safety.
According to Naveen Kshatriya, Managing Director, Castrol India, “The primary objective of the BP International Driving Championship is to build road safety awareness and understanding of safe driving techniques that could be adopted in any driving related activities. The India competition re-emphasizes Castrol India’s leadership position in the lubricants Industry and its commitment to road safety”.
